The changes that will be made in my cass schools is that they will become choice schools, meaning that teachers, and students will choose to be there instead of being forced. The base foundation of the school will be one that is community and family based all the administration, faculty, students, and parents will work together towards the goal of success for all students. As mentioned by the students and administration in the PBS film Charter Schools That Work, “The administration and faculty will do whatever it takes to help children learn and succeed.” Each day there will be a rotational selection for morning inspiration, which is a circle up where students are encouraged to affirm their success for the day through call and repeat chant. This will help to build the leader for the day as well as the other student’s confidence, The school will have a campus improvement coordinator similar to Brandi Brevard, of Dropout Nation, who went above and beyond to work with students who were facing very difficult times. All students will be assigned to a member of the counseling staff of 7 who will be able to help them stay on track academically, emotionally and spiritually. The studies have proven that many of the issues that these children face occur in their older years and the reason they want to drop out is due to years of nobody caring for them and their being pushed through an educational system that wasn’t geared towards them. We must get to these students at a young age when they are sponges ready to absorb. We have to help them to love school, reinforce positive mental attitudes, teach self confidence. Between this and uniforms to eliminate bullying, well trained faculty and staff that want to do their jobs, and a curriculum developed by a board of the best teachers I feel that this is a full proof reform that will help to diminish the achievement
