The 5 year mortality rate of African American (AA) with breast cancer far exceed that of white women. Nonetheless, the prevalence of breast cancer in white women is greater than in AA women. Researchers have linked such disparity to multiple barriers such as finance, lack of insurance, lack of access to care, lack of breast cancer awareness, lack of screening, and lack of community resources. Many have proposed that providing equal access to care and equal education as a way to reduce the five year mortality rate of AA women with breast cancer (White-Means et al., 2016). If the aforementioned barriers are broken, will the 5 year mortality rate of AA women with breast cancer be reduced to match that of white women?

I will however add some new items to the form to include family support, access to community resources, and education in regard to breast cancer.
Will you gather baseline data? Will you use pre- and posttests? How will you measure change?
I do plan to obtain baseline data to determine the participants’ base knowledge about breast cancer. I will also use a post-test to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention once the barriers have been addressed. The change will be measured based on the amount of women who verbalized an increase in awareness of breast cancer and those who shown an interest partaking in screening and lifestyle changes, as well as community resources to help close the gap of cancer mortality rate between them and their white cohorts.
How will you identify the participants for your study? How does the sampling method chosen further define the type of study you will be
