She is not completely sure what major within the Business School interests her, but she seems to be confident that business is where her interests lie. In high school, cheerleading was a major part of Sam’s life, but it is not something that she wanted to pursue in college; one thing Sam was really looking forward to about college was being able to get involved in completely new activities and programs. In class, Sam is extremely polite. She is very mindful of what she says and how she says it, which contributes to her kind personality. Sam participates during facilitator-led and instructor-led days, and her most common form of participation is through questions. When either the instructor or a facilitator asks if anybody in the class has a question, Sam often has intelligent questions that benefit the whole class. Outside of class, Sam seems to be very sociable and has found a core friend group. He is very involved on the professor led days but disengaged and reserved on facilitator led days. On professor led days he is eager to participate and share his insight on issues, and it is obvious that he enjoys the class. His comments are also very insightful and connect the issues to broader topics. He is very knowledgeable about his major and the field of computer science, and will readily tell you about it if you ask. Because of this, we suspect there is some disinterest and contempt for the facilitator led days, and we are currently trying to schedule a one-on-one meeting to explain the importance of our class. He is not very social with his classmates, so the social climate could also be a problem for him. We are presently trying to figure this out and work to accommodate him so he can get the most out of this
