In spite of teachers’ best efforts, some students start the course unmotivated and continue like this all along the period. For this reason, these students need a consistent follow-up program and this is one of the teacher’s most important duties. Parents must be aware of their child’s progress since their involvement can make the difference between success and failure. Teachers can use different ways of communication with parents, to illustrate; weekly letters, telephone calls, e-mails, and parent-teacher conferences are some of them. All of these are media we have to explore to notify parents regarding students’ progress. If we do not follow these steps, we are simply neglecting students’ rights. As teachers, there is something important that cannot be forgotten - while some parents are over-involved, others leave the whole responsibility to the teachers. Teachers have to avoid the parents’ expression: “I was never notified”. To avoid this, copies and records of every communication with parents must be maintained. Furthermore, there are parents who are mistrustful of school personnel. If this were the case, teachers cannot let any parent make them loose their temper, even during the most difficult situation they have to keep the meeting relaxed and professional, this is part of the ethical code. The teachers must be aware that some parents get frustrated when their child is not doing as expected.
