The most influential work that Delacroix created came about a year later in 1830. The painting was the “Liberty Leading the People,” in this painting there are differences between the neoclassical style and the romantic approach. This could be the best known painting painted by Delacroix. “Liberty Leading the People” represents freedom and liberty as the Parisians March forward under the tricolor banner/flag. There was three glorious days, the Parisian uprising over three days July 27-29, 1830. They overthrew Charles X who was the last Bourbon King of France. In the painting there is also a young boy holding a gun up which is said to have been an inspiration from Les Misérables. This piece is on of his most remembered and loved prices of work today's. This painting also uses the power of highlight in certain places, like the soldier that is underneath the woman holding the flag. Through out Delacroix piece he uses the colors of the French Flag which in way represents the power of the rebellious bare breasted woman and the power of the
