Reflection is one of the main learning methods endorsed by professional, statutory and regulatory bodies (NMC, 2002; RCM, 2003) to promote the development of knowledgeable and competent practitioners. Before starting the TAP course I found myself using a form of informal reflection by thiking about a situation that had happened and what went wrong, but I was unable to critically evaluate or make sense or the situation and therefore not being able to come to a conclusion or create a action plan if this situation was to rise again.
At the start of this module, Personal and Profesional development in Practice, I have started to recognise my strengths and weaknesses. It has undoubtfully helped me to recognise my weak points which I feel are referencing and reflective writing, As before I started the TAP course these are skills I feel I haven’t put into practice, however since starting this course I have become more aware of the importance of these skills and how they can help me improve and development my learning and myself
