Throughout our lives, we have been taught to follow the set of norms in society and to fit in. If society says look a certain way, more times than not, you will conform to what they 're saying. I can relate this to my own life in times such as middle or high school. If there was a fashion trend going on at the time and you followed it, you were considered to be “cool”. Our identity also is significantly impacted based on who we hang out with. Your friends have a huge effect on your thoughts and how you act, especially in a developmentally critical time such a middle and high school where you are changing the most and becoming a young adult. You are essentially growing together and helping each other develop certain traits so if they act a certain way, you are most likely going to act
