At the event I counted two employees who were working the event. I introduced myself to them and asked why there were only two people working and not umpires for the game. They informed me that the summer leagues are a lot slower than the fall and spring leagues and therefore did not require as much help. I feel that their main concerns were to make sure that each team got properly checked in and then a brief explanation of how the game was to be played between the two (they were required to make own outs fair and foul calls). They stayed in the a booth that was located in between the fields. As the manager I would inform those who work for me that it is important that you are walking around and ensuring that things are going well. If a problem does happen then you are more likely to their on hand and ready to handle the situation. I would also think that it would be important for the manager to make an appearance at the park as well. In addition to that I also felt that there need to be an official for the game. I asked myself questions such as: How could an umpire help with efficiency? If there was a close call how could an umpire help? Although there were not major issues while I was there, there is always a what if situation that actually happens and then people get upset but if there was an umpire on the field that could have been fixed. I feel that one of the workers could have stepped in and umpired the
