This is an example on how the report was wrong: African-American and Hispanic are more likely to get pulled over rather than if someone was white. Robinson states the statics in his article that if an African-American gets pulled over they are 9.5% more likely to also get searched rather than if they are white or Hispanic. If a white person gets pulled over they are more likely to get a verbal warning instead of a written warning or a ticket. Robinson was stating all of this because it shows that Bureau of Justice Statistics was really trying to cover up racial profiling that happens. Hispanic and African-American groups are one of the top usual targets most of the time. Many people may think just because someone from these descents have been pulled over the cop hates that group which in most cases is not always true. However some law enforcement agencies do have a grudge that all Hispanics are illegal or all African-American people have drugs in the car. Robinson states in his article that cops will pull over a person of this descent and search their cars for no reason just so the cop can charge that person with whatever they can. For example drugs, open containers, guns, and lots of money on them are just a few things cops will search for. Robinson also states that if someone is white and they get pulled over they are more likely to just get a warning instead of being searched or ticketed.
