1. Describe the relationship between Juliet and her mother. How does Lady Capulet treat Juliet after she refuses to marry Paris? Answer in at least one(1) paragraph. Use at least one(1) quote from the play to support your answer.
Juliet is not very close to her mother, they are very distant from each other. Juliet loves her mother and doesn’t want to disappoint her mom but she doesn’t want to follow the rules either. Juliet is close to the nurse who practically raised her, they are super close. Lady Capulet doesn’t get mad at Juliet when she doesn’t want to marry Paris but she gets disappointed. Juliet refuses to honor her parent’s wish that she marries Paris. Even the Nurse pleads with her to concede, but she refuses her as well. Juliet has no one close she can talk to any more because the two main people she trusts enough are unavailable for her to talk to, the nurse wants her to marry Paris and Romeo is banned from the city. No one is there to help them out or give advise so they fail and die. They speak beautifully and poetic, as I stated earlier they want to speak from only the heart. Everything they say seems to have some sort of meaning, not like nowadays you say something just to say but they just speak love, they are meaningful and full of depth. When they first met thye fell instantly in love, love at first sight, it was as if Romeo forgot every other girl in the world and only say Juliet, before they met Romeo was sad and depressed after getting dumped, she was sort of his backup/ wake up call.
