The essence of punk remains a paradox; so simple to execute, so hard to describe. Initially punk rockers wanted to transform and revitalize a “diseased” industry that they believed no longer represented rebellion or youth but for many years, heated arguments have raged in punk circles about what it means and who has the means to define it yet it is still a catch22 situation till today.
In an interview by Enoch Magazine, Pat Thetic from Anti-Flag defined punk rock as a culture that consisted of people who wanted to create their own image. Looking at it on a more dominant view, Punk Rock was seen as a popular culture as primarily a means of manipulation of ideologies for the common man.
