Private security personnel will usually be employed by a “for- profit” organization or firm unlike a nonprofit or government agency. Some non-profit organizations will hire private security forces. The profit motive and the source of profit are very important elements to private security (Fischer, R., Halibozek, E., & Walters, D. 2012). Security services can be proprietary which means the security force is hired and managed by the organization that is being protected. There are also contract security firms that provides contract security services for organizations. The security force works directly for the security firm on a contract rather than the organization that they are protecting. Public police funding is force from the public with taxation. They receive payments before they provide any services. They also receive payment rather you ever use or refused the services. Depending on the department it can be a significant problem with the budgets that may cause majors cutbacks. They also do not have to focus on maintaining good standings with people of the public that they provide services for because it is force. In private security you pay only for the services you use and agree to. It is very important for private security to maintain a great relationship with their clients in order to stay up a running.
