Mourning after a loved one has passed is normal but if grieving goes on for too long it may turn into depression. Even after the mourning process is over, there is still risk of another depression episode on the anniversary of the loved one’s death. Finding ways to avoid depression or having a relapse can benefit you greatly such as not taking on too many tasks. Having a busy life is great but it can also become stressful. Everyone experiences stress, it keeps you alert and it is a normal psychological and physical reaction to positive or negative situations in your life. (Mayoclinic.org) Experiencing stress is not abnormal but how you deal with it is what can be harmful. If you don’t handle stress well, it can overwhelm you and depression will take over.
