With block scheduling you have less class periods in the day, just longer ones. Sometimes they change every other day and other times they change every few weeks (Walker “Are Block”). A big pro with block scheduling is that it allows for more in depth learning and gives teachers the opportunity to engage students (Walker “Are Block”). Other pros are that it slows down the pace of the school day and lightens the homework load which takes some stress off of the students. Concerns that people have about it is it that kids will not be able to focus for that long and if they miss one class they will be further behind than normal (Walker “Are Block”). I understand why schools would consider changing to block schedule or year round schooling, but I feel it is better to stick with the traditional school
