I was very worried when I heard on the news that North Korea was going to strike one of the United States’ territory, Guam, with a few of their missiles, which could have led to a global war. Nuclear weapons are not a joke as their power as increased since their use on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan and could easily wipe out a country if they are not intercepted. Even if it was the highest probability that North Korea wouldn’t strike one of our territories, there was that slight chance that it could still happen and leave us in another world war that could be the most devastating one ever as China would most likely send nuclear weapons to the United States as their ally is attacked and cause every major world power to fight each other with their new and improved weaponry. This would affect all of my friends, family, and myself as we could be killed or have our lives completely changed due from the nuclear holocaust. My opinion is that the United Nations should convince China to fully stop trade with North Korea and place the toughest sanctions possible on the country. These sanctions would place a resource struggle on the country which could help to topple the country or just leave the citizens with even less food than there is already available. Even if the United States decided to strike North Korea with any form of an offensive, China would most likely back them up and could possibly strike our country with their own nukes. North Korea even has artillery that is ready to strike Seoul if there was any presence of a war with them. If our country wanted to send a nuke to North Korea, it would lead to ethical problems, as innocent civilians would be killed, and our South Korea would face the effects of nuclear radiation and fallout. My biggest hope is that there can be an uprising that would take out the dictatorship and would allow the United States place a strong leader that would bring back the rights of the people and united the two halves of Korea into one. Hopefully there wouldn't be a situation where a terrorist organization would take over the government and bring an even worse regime than the one currently in place. This would most likely be the best solution for the country’s problems, but one thing still is in the way of all of this. Many of the citizens of
