Obesity can be caused by eating excess amount of food, and not burning it off through physical activity. Due to their physique not being “socially” acceptable their self esteem could go down. Some teens could suffer from depression and from depression comes other issues. It can lead to an eating disorder like anorexia and bulimia nervosa.
Obesity can also hurt someone economically, in this case, the parents. Expenses from frequent medical doctor visits, diagnostic studies, therapeutic services, and nutritionist can take a toll on the person who is paying it. Childhood obesity can be prevented. The first step is changing the eating habits.
Parents could reduce the amount of fatty and sugary foods they give to their children that might cause them to gain so much excess weight. Also making healthy home meals instead of buying food from fast food restaurants benefits the child in so many ways . A child is growing and to grow strong and healthy they need the right nutrients and proteins in their body. Junk deprives them of these useful vitamins and nutrients.
