The PC-PTSD is a 4 item scale that was developed for the medical care field and is currently used to screen Veterans using VA health care (Prins, Ouimette, Kimerling, Cameron, Hugelshofer, ShawHegwer, Thrailkill, Gusman, and Sheikh, 2003). The screen has introductory sentences to cue individuals to traumatic events (Prins et al., 2003). The test is considered positive if a client answers yes to any of the three items (Prins et al., 2003). According to Kavan (2014), the PSS items were included that had strong correlations with the PTS-T and contributed to internal consistency and reliability (Kavan, 2014). Additionally, the PSS is to be used for individuals 18 and over. The price of the kit in 2015 was $82 per introductory kit, which included the manual and answer sheet. It is reported to be either a paper and pencil test or online and is said to take one to five minutes to
