In one chart the author tests the statement of southern food consumption by residence in the south versus outside the south in the spring of 1995 (Latshaw 113). When asked how often does a person eats southern food, sixteen percent who lives in the south says they do, while four percent who don’t live in the south says they do (Latshaw 113). Even though these numbers were recorded in 1995, it is still shocking that the numbers are only separated by twelve percent, meaning not a lot of southern people often eat southern food.
