How Emotivism Can Be Used To Understand the Perspective of All Parties except the Student If the practice is approved, emotivism can be used to understand the point of view of all the parties that include the police and the prostitutes. Emotivism notes that moral utterances lack the truth value and only expresses the feelings and emotional worth of the person talking. It, thus, can be used to understand the perspective of the police because they disregard moral in reaching the decisions they react at. It is because they see it as expressing people feelings and beliefs found in the people minds and hearts but not in reality.
Reasons it is not ethically justifiable to disregard the Minor Crime of Prostitution Even if believed that it assists Capturing More Dangerous or Violent Criminals It is because there exists no bigger or lesser crime and it is under the jurisdiction of the judges and attorneys to determine the seriousness of a crime and penalties that each crime has. Moreover, there are no standards or parameters used to determine the rank and ratings of crime internationally recognized. The police have to exploit other means that they can address the serious crimes such as having informers and penetrating the criminal gang cells and networks. It is than encouraging continuation of a crime despite the crime having some benefits to the police as noted in the case. The question, thus, that exists is that if the police enable to reduce and end the serious crimes, will they now turn to the minor crime such as that of prostitution and change their perception about it? Disregarding minor crime such as that of prostitution is not ethically justifiable as it only encourages other minor crimes to spread (Herzog & Einat, 2016). The police have to request for additional support and resources that can enable them to tackle both minor and major crimes effectively. It is because the student cannot report the case to the police because they are the ones that are supposed to act and such matters are reported to them. Therefore, there is a high chance that even if the student reports to other police stations, the issues might be covered up and not addressed objectively (Ruggiero, 2015). The student, therefore, has the ethical responsibility to report the matter to the attorney general office. It has the powers and abilities to address the issue objectively, and possibly institute changes that would help the entire police force address underlying issues that make them embrace unethical practices. For instance, shortage of staffing and personnel that results in compromised service delivery to the public and the state at large. The student, thus, reporting the mature to the attorney general office would be helping the police, the public and the state at large, hence, has the ethical responsibility.
