It creates a strong bond and dependency with the mother and child. Although some women are not given the opportunity to breastfeed based on health conditions of the mother or the child at times, all women who are able to breastfeed offer their child with hormonal benefits in the long run. “A number of health organizations — including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the World Health Organization (WHO) — recommend breastfeeding as the best choice for babies. Due to the many benefits in the breast milk, those who drink it will have a smaller chance of being hospitalized due to infections. People who were able to find out just how bad plastic products are. Plastic products include a “chemical typically found in plastic items with a recyclable symbol number 3, Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) leaches the chemical phthalates out into the items/liquids within the containers. The health effects of these chemicals is decreased lung function, increased weight gain, increased resistance to insulin, low sperm count and DNA damage to sperm. There have also been studies that show infant males exposed to this chemical have negative reproductive development. Polycarbonate which contains bisphenal A (also known as BPA) can also leach into the contents/liquids that plastic container is holding.” (http://www.green-4-u.com/2009/02/02/why-plastic-is-bad/). These health risks along with our deadly pollution have the potential for serious birth defects and even a decline in populations. Advancements in technology has also developed part solutions for the breastfeeding crisis. The reusable breast pump is a device where mothers are able to pump excess amounts of milk so they can store it for later in the fridge. This clean natural resource has many positive aspects such as easy, clean, efficient and comfortable. Mothers are still providing their children with their milk in a more comfortable way. The children are fed through a bottle filled with the mother's breast milk. This is a solution.
