I knew there were many ways of doing this but I wanted to use medicine as my tool. I want to interact with people, listen to them, and be able to diagnose their illness and that with my help, to make them feel better. I want to inspire confidence, I want my patients to know that can count on me to help them. I want to make people feel the way the Venezuelan doctor made us feel, that everything was going to be okay. I have been volunteering at Women and Infants Hospital and I see many kinds of doctors. The vast majority talk with the patient once before surgery. The rest is just amazing to watch. They connect with their patients, they make them feel safe, make them feel that they are there for them and I want to be able to do that, I want to be able to inspire such confidence in people. I have met amazing doctors, such as Dr. Magendantz, that truly care about their patients, they truly care about their problems and they really listen to them and it is such an amazing experience to observe them working because it inspires me, it makes me set a higher standard of what a doctor is supposed to be and what kind of doctor I want to
