I woke up, feeling amazing. I normally woke up feeling terrible, feeling like there was no point in life, except today was different. I was eager to go to the school I dreaded, I was eager to go on the school trip to Winsthrop Park for geography, the idea simply stunned me. My routine from waking up to arriving at school was normal. I woke up and looked outside at the beautiful sunrise which stretched over the valley of houses. After which I had an invigorating cold shower, in which the cold drops of water pelted my body awakening my soul and very being. I sat there in silence on the bus, frustrated at the conditions of the day. The one time I was going to be late was the only day I cared about going to school. Anyway, I exited the bus and rushed towards school. The teachers waiting at the gate like predators, waiting for the late-children as prey. They wanted our names, only to humiliate us by giving a detention at the end of the day in which “lines” were to be written. I gave them my name, however the joke was on them. I had a school trip so there was going to be no detention for me, and so no time or paper would have been wasted. We embarked on the momentous green school bus, and its engine roared into life - the wheels eventually moving. After an hour of shouting, and chaos on the bus we finally arrived. The sign above the entrance towered above the fence - gleaming in the sun, reading “Welcome”. We browsed the mesmerising areas of the park. Nothing was too interesting, however the atmosphere was brilliant. The birds chirped, and the smell of the outdoors was excellent. The emerald green grass blades moved graciously in response to the wind, and the flowers painted a mural.
It was lunch- time by now, and I sat on the oak bench, eating my soft sandwich. Then over the fence I saw an short, orange monkey that indicated it was hungry via pointing at its mouth. The cute animal came to me and I accidently dropped my sandwich. It took it and ate it, moments later the poor thing fell on the floor dead. What an accident. Unlucky for me my teacher blamed me for killing the animal, and mentioned that there were signs all around the park stating “ do not feed animals”.
We dispersed from the scene, and I was given a detention.
