Oscar, I have to say that I chuckled when I read, "I've done everything in the mental health field except prescribe medication; you name it: case manager, psychotherapist, administrator, clinical supervisor. " You are quite an interesting person Oscar. winking I have to say your previous employment was quite a surprise to me. I'm a little taken back. I'm usually a perceptive person, but you really got me this time.…
I am Cadet Major Destiny Key, I am currently West High’s AK-033 Group Commander; the highest position earned in Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. I had to overcome a multitude of challenges and other positions before earning this title. It had a great impact in my academic life, being Group Commander has opened doors that I did’t think were possible. I had so many opportunities in the three months I have been in this position. I have the opportunity to create goals to better the corps, school, and community as well as have the opportunity to lead 135 cadets also known as my peers.…
Discuss a leadership experience you have had in any area of your life: school, work, athletics, family, church, community, etc. How and why did you become a leader in this area? How did this experience influence your goals? I was playing soccer with my friends in my neighborhood just a normal day everything looked as usual. But while I was playing soccer I was hearing a noise, not knowing if I am the only one who is hearing I felt deluded for a moment and stopped playing soccer and headed to the direction where the noise was coming from.…
It was October 16, 2012. I was in seventh grade, just a boy to become someone or something. We were loading the bus with our two coaches, Coach Voss and Coach Larh. Coach Voss the offensive coach who liked to make us run, and coach larh, our Defensive coach who taught me everything I known about the defensive side of the ball. This was a big game for me and my fellow teammates this game was going to set the tone for the rest of the season to show that we can be successful.…
I have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with perfect grammar and spelling. I am also a fast typist. In addition to my academic work, my seven years of experience in the customer service industry, including three years as a team leader at Quick restaurant, gave me experience in responding efficiently and effectively to customers enquiries, solving problems, multi-tasking, and maintaining a high standard of customer service in a fast-paced environment.…
The idea of being told that I had to work for the first time made me want to eat glass; but could it possibly have turned out for the better? In England, when you reach 10th grade you participate in a nationally accepted program called 'Work Experience'. ' Work Experience' is when you work just like you would if you were legally an adult except with this program it only lasts a week. After 2 weeks of tireless searching I landed a job at Ariya Capital; an experienced developer and investor in clean energy and infrastructure projects throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It was actually much more advanced than any job I ever thought of getting.…
There are multiple ways I am a leader within my community. The main way I lead my peers is through sports. I have been on my different teams; volleyball, basketball, track, and softball have all given me the opportunity to build my character and to lead by example. I was the volleyball team captain for my junior and senior year, so many of the younger girls were looking up to me. The best way to lead is by your actions; I would always go hard in practices and games to show the underclassmen that in order to get the best results, you need to give it your all.…
During and after the group project I got a better understanding of NAVAL and a better understanding of my group. For example, Lexi is the leader of the group and Camille is the worker bee meaning that she is the one to go to for the information about the presentation. There were many high points in the group such as when we completed are power point early and when we researched the information. I had a blast working with them. A low point was when the video couldn’t load and we had to start from scratch again.…
I went back to therapy the next day. “Scot, I think you might be ready to work in group therapy. I know you don't really like people, but it might be good for you." And that is why I would be meeting five more people. Against my will.…
This group has taught me to be kind, forgiving, and a leader. It teaches you to be respectful, and to help others. To put in differently, it taught you people skills. From time to time you would get disagreements with others but it never lasted long. Not to mention all of the late nights, early mornings, long summer days and cold fall nights.…
In high school there were a lot of people that had jobs. There was a limited amount that had a job freshman year. I was lucky to have known a kid at Kroger that was in my class; I wasn't looking for a job at the time but he was telling me how they were hiring and all i had to do was apply. I applied that day and heard back two days later.…
For me, it’s not easy working with others because I like to take ownership of my work. It was a great experience to see the importance of the synergies that were created, as effective division of work and proper communication made a very big project manageable. Also, completely reading the instructions is an important lesson the we learned and can take anywhere. While we were confident about our material in the presentation, we didn’t follow the guidelines well, which hurt us. Trust is a huge part about working in groups, and I gained this trust through interaction with my team members, as well as success early on in the project.…
As a result, few did not have any idea how far we have been in the work we were doing. It was a very good experience for me. I learned that every member of a group has a very important role to play in the success of the project. Maintaining good focus, and same level of attention is another important factor in small group projects that can affect the outcome of the work.…
In fact, my group members were very helpful and whenever one of us had trouble with something we would all participate in solving her problem or giving her helpful tips to solve it. By helping, supporting and motivating each other it made the project easier to solve and it helped us in achieving our work in the most effective time and ways. Here are some points I loved about the experience, firstly being a part of a group helped in developing my skills and we were able to achieve more work than in working individually. Secondly, we had more time to manage and plan. Thirdly I developed more communicating skills and team commitment and also I had more exchange of information between myself and our group members.…
Wednesday, Today was a good day. Today I lead a twelve step group for recovering alcoholics. In this particular group I was instructed not to use names and to try and make sure that I am I talking to everyone at one time, what my supervisor wanted to make sure was that everyone had their confediality kept. I was warned that some counselors would speak to a individual person and the other group embers would feel like whatever the counselor was saying the member was guilty of. I walked into the small room and saw eight people sitting in a stagger circle formation waiting on me to arrive.…
