Real life is nothing like the false accusations. Besides the select few boys hat paid attention to the younger girls because they believed that they would be “easy,” the upperclassmen paid us no attention on a day to day basis. The one thing they did know though was who was new and who wasn’t by the recognition of faces. It was not until I began to participate in extracurricular activities that I met and formed relationships with any of the older kids in the school.
I decided that I would continue running track in high school. This was my key to meeting new people and getting more friends. The track team at first was a little awkward. The other teammates had to get a feel for the type of people that we were. After that process, the team almost became one huge family. In my experience, a team full of girls will not always be perfect, we have our days but at the end of it all we all joined back together
