He and a few of his friends immediately hopped over the fence into the enclosure.
‘And, if you want, I can bring one of the bunnies out.” Said Wendy.
“Yes!” squealed one of the girls. “I love bunnies!”
“Alright,” said Wendy, heading over the cage and pulling out a fluffy brown rabbit, “but you have to be quiet and gentle. He gets nervous around—“
She was cut off by a loud scream coming from the pig pen. I whipped around and watched as the three boys scrambled up onto the fence at the back of the enclosure. Apparently, Romeo had tried to approach the boys and had scared them. He was standing at the bottom of the fence, staring up at them. They stared back at him fearfully. It was one of the most ridiculous things I had ever seen in my entire eight years of life.
“He won’t hurt you!” called Wendy, struggling to calm the startled rabbit. “I’ll come in there and distract him.”
“I can do it!” I said eagerly. I raced over to the pen, hopped over the fence, and watched as Romeo trotted over to me.
