In the business industry, having to assume a leadership position in a constantly growing field goes hand in hand with competence as well as hard work. Analyzing what it takes to be a leader is highly important as leadership and management is multifaceted, as well as something that take practice. A great leader has the ability to morph and be flexible to complicated situations, keep a team motivated and happy, as well as create increased productivity. While the many sided aspects of leadership are influenced by many outside factors, it is not impossible to narrow down. Three theories hope to establish what it means to be a great leader, as well as highlight its weaknesses and strengths.

Ranging from Autocratic, Consultative and Group based. Different leaders are taken into consideration. I would most likely consider myself a Consultative Type, as I obviously care about the opinion of others and their ideas, yet the decision lies on my shoulders automatically. The weaknesses in this theory, is that it, again, does not take into account how multifaceted humans are, and neglects other aspects of leadership.
As an individual who is new to leadership, I feel that the Vroom-Yetton decision making model is appealing to me. I enjoy servant leadership as well as leadership that is personable and takes individuals opinions into account. However, the point of leadership is to be the person who makes the final decisions.
Leadership is multifaceted, and is something that does have natural affinity, but is also something that can be learned. I am excited to see how this will change my leadership
