A time in my life, which I experienced pain and suffering was, when my oldest brother passed away unexpectedly, just when he was jumpstarting his life. His name was John and he was the best brother and sister would love to have. My brothers passing affected the whole family, especially, my mother who just shut down. How did this happen? The main reason is I come from a praying family, who stood by my side and prayed for healing and understanding to get through my pain. The healing process and praying to God for forgiveness and love to come back to his grace was the start. Also, my brother came to me in my darkest hour and I knew this was God allowing this to happen. God talked to me and instructed me to be still and quiet and I obliged to his command. When this happened my brother called me on the phone twice and we laughed and talked for a moment, which I will never forget. God cares about all suffering in the world from a Christian standpoint, Christians understand that good and the power of God would and how it affects people in their lives. God does not allow a person to suffer, but suffering exists in the world because of humanity and their disobedience. The disobedience of Adam and Eve, and the second generation of Adam and Eve’s children, all were born into sin and suffering in the world.
In summary, suffering exists and the balance of good and evil in the world tests or faith and love for God. Also suffering in the world is a teaching experience which builds faith and reason into the depths of our being in the world.
4. Imagine that a close friend has just suffered through a great personal loss (death of a loved one, natural disaster, disease, job loss, divorce, or a broken relationship) and your friend asks you why God would let such a terrible thing happen. How would you respond to your friend?
Recently, a friend of mines has suffered a broken relationship and I have consoled her about the relationship first, by asking her to pray to God for wisdom. Next, I have shared with her that God loves her so and stated, “This too shall pass” because that is not the man, God created specifically, for you. The last quest is my service to her as a friend to be that listening ear, and ask God to deliver her and regain
