3. Hazardous waste management system
Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF) of the Government of India (GOI) formed “Hazardous Waste Management and Handling Rules”. The main goal to make a set of rules was to frame a skeleton for an efficient handling, storage, transportation and treatment of the produced hazardous wastes with respect to the environmental act of 1986.
The recycling and safe disposal methods of wastes generated are based on the waste elimination and reduction techniques.
3.1 Waste reduction and Waste elimination

The issue identified with these states is that the area is too small as well as the waste produced is very minimum as compared to the other states. Hence, the problem of setting up of individual landfills in these states is a problem. The solution for the above problem would be collaborating with the neighbouring states common landfill.
4.1 Illegal dumpsites and remediation
In numerous states in India where there is no common landfills present, we can observe illegal dumping of wastes in the sites. The main reason behind this illegal dumping of waste is that there would be large reduction of transport costs incurred for the transportation of wastes by the industries. Steps to be taken in order to control this kind of illegal dumping of wastes by strengthening the security of the landfill. Regular tastes should be performed on the soil and ground water in order to determine the effects of landfill in the particular region.
