In many recent years, school departments of instruction have been stricken with budget cuts and one of the most noted challenges has been to maintain resources without sacrifice. Furthermore, in many instances this has required teachers to become resourceful, placing more difficulty on their part to ensuring student successes. Therefore, another concern is the method of instructional delivery from the teacher to the students. Both teachers’ implement and support hands- on manipulatives. Further inquiry and discovery is used during math and science. Students are allowed to partner and provide solutions. When there is a problem with a lesson being taught by the teacher, a student to student approach is used to help get the group through the lesson. Consequently, students are able to compare and relate to real life situations when it comes to learning. Furthermore, whole- class discussion is taught by engaging the students by relating the lesson to the student. In small- group discussion the students are allowed to discuss and write collaboratively on a topic. Cooperative learning inside the classroom is comprised of small groups that each child within the group is engaged in the lesson by completing activities according to their abilities. Role playing usually occurs during story time when students are allowed to act out the story demonstrating comprehension. Then as a group discussion occurs stating what was done correctly or incorrectly. Independent learning approaches occurs during lesson time normally as a whole group. However, it is not unusual to take place during small group learning. However, during this time students must answer questions or give an example independently through teacher support.
