This was exactly what Bismarck wanted. The Prussians easily defeated France. This victory made all of the German states want to Unite with their newfound nationalist attitude after their state had just beaten one of the largest European powers ever. This war between Prussia and France united all of the states in the German confederation. This topic of war also somewhat encompasses nationalism. Every one of the Germanic states wanted to be part of the victor's side and seeing Otto Von Bismarck’s patriotism. This war attitude pushed innovation in armament.
Otto Von Bismarck’s push for a strong military rubbed off on other countries. HIs build up of his army influenced other countries to build up theirs. Germany built theirs up as a dominant country. This helped their and other nations economies by creating factory production jobs along with the innovation that would come closer to world war I. Germany was so ready to innovate, by world war I they had fully automatic machine guns in the trenches to stop old strategy and introduce a new type of war. This innovation and cause are what pushes warfare
