Prince Hamlet’s striatum has increased activity at this moment; the idea of getting revenge for his father’s death is blinding him from the logic of the situation. Prince Hamlet’s only concern at this junction is doing what he thinks is right -- getting revenge for his father’s death as quickly as possible so King Hamlet’s murderer, Claudius, gets punished for his tragic crime. Since Old King Hamlet and Prince Hamlet were thick as thieves, the encounter with the ghost, that is assumed to be King Hamlet’s spirit, drives Hamlet toward madness. Reactions to these stimuli can be prevented by coping with emotions through exercise or getting a hobby to prevent making poor decisions. In order to not obsess over problems reciprocate other’s poor actions, I exercise or knit. Working out allows you to not overindulge in rich chocolate ice cream because you’re staying healthy and keeping your mind occupied, having a hobby has a similar effect; it keeps your brain occupied with another topic. Other people play sports to relieve their emotions or listen to music or use different art forms to express their emotions. Retaliation and overeating apply to many people because at some point everyone’s life they will become jealous of another person, which leads to yearning for revenge. Everyone needs food to survive, therefore everyone has the potential to be gluttonous. Society is selfish because getting payback only truly benefits the vindictive, not those who are having revenge taken upon them. Ravenous eaters show selfishness because they don’t care about the impact obesity has on the people in their lives, which is odd because in society values human connection but because of basic biological instincts we care about ourselves more than we care about ourselves more than anyone
