In the time I spent with Ms.Roberts I found that Occupational Therapy has many doors to it. There are many different paths that one in this field could take, which to me is very exciting. She suggested that when I do my practicum or observation hours to try it in different areas. This made me think of what path I would want to take and I feel I lean more towards kids, but would open minded about any path available to me. I also learned that everyday there is a new challenge. There is never two patients that are the same. I find this to be inspiring because everyday I would be able to tackle a new challenge and a new opportunity everyday. I found her passion for the career was also very inspiring. She told me a story about how her uncle was a truck driver and was in a car wreck and suffered a traumatic brain injury. After visiting him a couple times a week and seeing the therapy he had to go through inspired her to be an occupational therapist. Before I had this interview I hadn't been exposed to occupational therapy a whole lot. I knew what it involved, but never spoke to or had been to an office with a professional in the field. This exposed me to learn more about occupational therapy and the many different paths I could take. I knew that in the career I would have in the future I would love to help people and with this career I would be making a difference in someones life everyday.
