How can anyone achieve the American dream if you are always wanting more? The American dream would never really be achieved; individually you would always say if only I had this and so on. There are many reasons for people to not be satisfied with what they have and this is shown in every class because nature is something we are born with so we have to try to overcome it. In order to achieve the American dream you would have to be satisfied with what you have. In The Great Gatsby Jay Gatsby always wanted more from Daisy and he wasn’t satisfied with everything she was giving him because he didn’t have a few years of her past. This shows that your nature is strong and makes people very unsatisfied sometimes. Other people may say that never being satisfied is what keeps everything going in the world because people are always trying to be better and more successful than others. Everyone does not have the same abilities. For example, if a person really wants to do a certain thing and they do not have as good abilities for it as another person does the other person is always going to be more successful in it.
