The Norman V. Honda of America Manufacturing case involved a young lady named Karen Norman, whom along with a friend, were in her four-door 1991 Honda civic vehicle, in which Karen was in the driver’s seat trying to back her car up to leave and accidentally backed down a boat ramp and into the water in Galveston Bay. Her friend, who was in the passenger’s seat was the only one to make it out before the car sank into the water and her body was discovered a few hours later. The autopsy revealed that Karen’s blood alcohol level was above the legal limit of 0.08 and was at 0.17 which is explained that an individual has a clear deterioration of reaction time and control.
