Social media is something that has been around for ages despite what we think. Whether it be the newspaper, the radio, or the television, media has influenced us to think and act a certain way. How does the media do just that though? Media is a powerful influence on almost every aspect of our lives. Media also targets certain groups to gain votes for presidential candidates, "From one point of view, they abuse their power, especially since they are driven by profit motive to give people what they want, not what they need," ( "I view") to sway the public to bash one candidate and uplift another. Since media is driven by profit, some news networks can be paid by the candidates campaign to once again persuade the public to vote or boost one candidate and dishonor others.The future candidate and eventual president is contentious to the status of our country. The media will always portray something that is untruthful and it is therefore better to do your own research on these topics to develop your own perspective. Media can be useful in some ways but in many ways it is a cancer that twists and brainwashed the public eye to believe such intolerant opinions.
