Introduction-
The task was to investigate a number of natural dyes to find out if they are suitable with a particular fabric. Natural dyes are a colorants derived from plants, minerals, and etc. Vegetable dyes from plants are the main sources of natural dyes. Different kinds of vegetables and fruits that have color can be used in this experiment which can be berries, leaves, and other organic sources. Our group used beets, spinach, and carrots as our natural dye.
Material-
There were a lot of different materials used for this dye experiment. During the preparation of the dye we used beakers, scissors, cheesecloth, and gloves. Then during the process of dyeing we used iron ( ferrous sulfate), cream of tartar and lemon (ammonia) as our mordant. We also used a hot plate to boil the water and the filtration.

Then we boiled the water for fifteen minutes with 5g plant material and 50 ml water. The beets automatically showed the difference in color and then during the boiling process saw the color of the other dyes change color as well. After the fifteens minutes was up, we used gloves to take the beakers off of the hot plate. Then we needed to use the cheesecloth to separate the filtration and then we despised the original beets, carrots, and spinach. The cheesecloth was too long so we had to use the scissors to cut it to size to make it fit over the
