He later changed his name to Muzafer Sherif before he came to the United States. In 1927 he earned a B.A. at the American International College and later at the University of Istanbul he obtained his first M.A. Murafer Sherif moved to America in 1932 where he obtained his second master at the Harvard University. After listening to lectures under Kohler in Berlin, in 1935 Sherif presented his research: Some Social Factor in Understanding and later achieved his Doctoral at the Columbia University under Garden Murphy. The research workers prepared a four day- array of events between the two groups and ensured those ribbons and camping pocket knives to the title-holder. At the time the events were going on, animosity starts to brew up between the two groups. The animosity started out only words such as put down phrases and name calling, and as the events went on, the arguments took on a more serious route. The Eagles set fire to the Rattlers flags.
