The advantage of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator is that an individual can learn more about themselves and other individuals through their own behavior (Varvel, Adams, Pridie, & Ruiz , 2004). This information may be very useful to an Industrial Organizational Psychologist who is trying to build a team based on the behaviors of the individuals. This instrument can also help a Psychologist understand why there may be communication gaps between specific employees based on their personalities. Likewise, they can also use it for selection and placement based on an employee’s result. This personality test is administered for research on personality types that are universal in middle and upper management in organizations (Varvel et al., 2004). In the investigative arena, I would definitely concur that I love implementing ideas and thinking about them, I enjoy searching for evidence and also resolving problems. In the social field, I always have worked with people, applying both my communication and guidance skills. Finally, in the Artistic domain many years ago I was a professional Graphic Designer concentrating mostly on creating designs and working with brochures before I started the field of Psychology. I was very surprised that this test was able to capture this interest because I believed it was dormant. I feel my concentration and passion are now towards the field of Psychology. I decided to go to O-NET Online to investigate where my area of interest falls in ISA and Occupations that would be founded on my concentration would be Clinical Psychologists, Naturopathic Physicians, Neuropsychologists and Clinical Neuropsychologists, and Psychiatrists.
