To begin with, I am not eating adequate amount of calories because I skip breakfast and try to eat with the things that I have around me. I am not meeting required nutrient needs in all categories except protein, fat, sodium, and empty calories, probably because I eat fast foods for lunch. In order to meet the calories needed, I should stop skipping breakfast and plan my meals instead of buying food so that I eat more nutritiously. Two weaknesses that my current diet has are that I am still below the needed requirements for many nutrients and that I am not eating fruits at all. In order to overcome the weaknesses, my first goal will be to eat at least one whole fruit every day. This way, I can meet mineral and vitamin needs, as well as fulfill my fruit group. Following my sample meal plan, I will pack snacks such as nuts, yogurt, and fruit. Whatever I packed, I will eat it that day even if I am not hungry for my nutrition needs. As for my second goal, I will try to eat breakfast every day to increase my calorie need and meet nutritional needs. First, I will get up earlier so that I have time for breakfast.
