Right before I arrived to the school on Tuesday, the students had just left music class. They told me how fun and exciting it was but I could tell Ms. Diffey wasn’t too thrilled about it. She told me that it cut into their English time during the day. Due to this situation, Ms. Diffey was glad that I was there to assist her that day. I worked with Ms. Diffey’s SPED students. On Tuesday they were busy making up an assignment; they didn’t have the time to do the pre-writing assignment or the grammar lesson. Let me just start by saying, I don’t know how SPED teachers do it because it really tested my patience. I decided to start with the grammar lesson. I read the key concepts from the teacher’s edition and then had the students read the examples. One of the students had questions about everything we went over. This week they wanted to know what high school is like and what kind of classes I am taking. I told them that high school is just like middle school, but bigger and more complicated. When I told them I was taking the CNA course, and explained to them what it was, they were shocked. One boy said, “Whoa! She’s going to be a nurse and a teacher! She’s like Wonder Woman!” I thought his comment was adorable, and it made me feel wonderful. When there are ten minutes left of the school day the students line up in two lines, one for parent pick up and one for the bus. I stand with the students who ride the bus, because it is faster for me to walk that way. We always go through the other 4th grade classroom, and the students ask if Talon is my boyfriend. Talon and I giggle each time because it is the same question every
