My Volunteering Experiences My life has changed ever since I stepped foot inside St. Elizabeth’s and Bryan Hospital as a volunteer four years ago. Ever since I was little, I’ve always seen myself working at a hospital. I had a strong desire to help individuals feel better physically and spiritually. It was not until the summer before my senior year of high school that I realized I wanted to become a nurse. With my leadership and integrity skills, I was able to accommodate kids, patients, and my family. I was able to find my true calling through the people I’ve helped. As I continue to plan out my future, I became mindful of the people I’ve come to know because I wouldn’t have been here if it wasn’t for them. I want to put more effort and to overcome any obstacles that may get in the way. I will put more time into studying to achieve my dreams. I believe education is one of the most important things an individual must continue to have. Having an admirable education will get you far in life. I will also be working on gaining more confidence and stepping outside my comfort zone. Even though stepping outside my comfort zone will open me up to the likelihood of anxiety and fear, I hope I will grow and be proud for what I’ve done. The other short term goal is to work as a CNA at my local hospitals. This will expose me to what my future career and give me the opportunity to continue helping out others. My long term goal is to become a nurse practitioner. I enjoy learning and am willing to take any risks that would help me achieve my goal.
