Each theory that I use has benefited me in one way or another. Some theories that I use do not go my way from the beginning but things change over time and you have to adapt.
The specific theory that I will endorse to focus on for this paper will be the motivational and emotional influences on decisions making. I choose this one for many different reasons, a few being a personal connection. I have learned at an early age in life that allot of decisions are made each day based on emotions and how someone feels. When decisions are made based on emotion the outcome may not be the way that you really want it to be. Also when people have a negative motivation to accomplish a goal or make a decision, the decisions that they come to might not be their own.
The best way that I could describe my topic would be the combination of strong emotions mixed in with a motivational angel in order to make a certain decision. The book gives many examples on how making a quick decision will hamper you later in the process. Every decision that you make in life will affect someone’s life in a positive or negative way. There are too many examples of us humans making decisions while being selfish. When you make that ethical decision make sure that it’s never for a self-service reason. When you are in a position to change things and make them new selfishness should never be involved. Finally the last and main skill to keep this a theory is do not view your emotions as uncontrollable. If in deed you cannot stop yourself from doing something you may have the ability to limit yourself from creating more negative effects from it. In closing the Motivational and emotional influences on decision-making will always be around and it will affect each individual differently. As we grow older the judgment to have good ethics when making decisions is even more important. We all want to be successful in life but if that means taking advantage over someone or lying to get to the top, I believe that is not the way to
