Cause: The root cause of the degradation of moral values among the youth in the Maldivian society is basically due to parents. The parental behaviour is the true and real cause of decline of values in the children, it is because of their weak marital life. Parents are bonded with nuptial ties but they don’t secure their conjugal life. Parents get separated very easily and the divorce gives a negative impact to youngsters. None to guide the youth and automatically they fall in bad company. Obviously, youngster loses their moral values and tends to do illegal things.
