Inattentional blindness is when we do not notice something that is very obviously in front of us, because we are engaged in something else. Change blindness, is when we don’t notice a change in what is in front of us now, and what was there before it. This relates to the two videos that I just watched. The first video with the moonwalking bear, I experienced inattentional blindness. In the second video, where they changed aspects of the scene, I experienced change blindness. According to Daniel Simon, these two phenomenon occur because people are far less aware of their surroundings than they think they are. I think that I do experience these two things in my everyday life, I can’t tell for sure if I have or not, because unlike the videos I can’t rewind and watch my life over again. However, any time I think something was there when it really wasn’t, or when I thought something was one color but it turned out to be a different color, one of these two types of blindness could be a solution to those
