It felt like I found the light after being in a dark tunnel. After meditating I felt so at ease and I think I understand why. I was attached to the emotions and thoughts, I was looking at the issue from an “I’m” sad perspective. In that meditation, I realized now that I was detaching myself from the situation. I was using the emptiness mode because I was getting rid of all attachments and focusing my mind only on the present, this resulted in relieving myself from all emotions and sufferings. Similar to my experience was what occurred in the movie The Dhamma Brothers because even though they were in a 10 day meditation program they were not forced what to think, but most replayed traumas or scenarios where they killed people and after being in prison for so long some of the men felt that they thought they could never experience those feelings again. While others ended in tears and felt at ease and this is because they were able to detach themselves and think about the actual suffering that was caused. They too were in a mode of emptiness. Therefore, in my experience and The Dhamma Brother’s experiences we were disciplining our minds to be able to detach ourselves from our emotions in order to release the constant sufferings. In realizing emptiness and impermanence, we are able to reach the highest spiritual wisdom and the highest truth. We will be on the right path to achieve nirvana. No one can be the witness of your experiences except for you, the one experiencing it. Similar to the turtle and the fish story, the fish did not believe the turtle because the fish did not get to experience what the turtle
