In my opinion this is a strength because if it was not for everyone around her, she would still be struggling with academic and social problems. Similar to Lauren, Sarah Lee also had a supportive family who help her with her learning struggles. Sarah Lee struggled with comprehension however, she had a strong command of basic language and concrete ideas but couldn’t put it together with abstract ideas. She was faced with an expressive language deficiency that also left her with trouble developing her vocabulary and retrieving words. In the long run Sarah Lee was put in a language immersion program that help her make those mental connection between abstract ideas. She was also given extra practice in reading, developing abstract thinking skills, and activities that help build a stronger vocabulary. One of her strengths was her own will to help herself. She realize the more she does the more proficient she will be and works hard in order to succeed. Unlike the other students Adams learning deficiency was caught later on. Adam struggled with the most basic reading, writing, and spelling. In seventh grade after Adam’s parents requested more test they found out her was on a third grade reading
