Chapter 7 Amir watched Hassan get raped and didn't do anything about it. “I had one last chance to make a decision. One final opportunity to decide who I was going to be. I could step into that alley,” (77 ) this quote shows how Amir had the choice to help Hassan, But he didn't which lead to the other part. “ “I watched Hassan get raped,” I said to no one. Baba stirred in his sleep. Kaka homayoun grunted. A part of me was hoping someone would wake up and hear, so I wouldn't have to live with this lie anymore.” (86) In this quote, amir is confessing out loud to himself, but hoping someone will hear so he would no longer have to live with the guilt.
