It does not matter whether or not their words are kind or evil; they are taken to heart. For some teens, bullying is something that happens at home or school, but others have to deal with bullying at both home and school. Hearing harsh words every single day from the people that are supposed to be there for you can make anyone feel worthless. Teens feel even worse, for their emotions are all over the place as they grow. Most adolescents that are bullied do not tell anyone about their problems, which results in depression. Depression can later lead to mental issues, such as schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder, and eating disorder. (Hazen et al. 278)These dangerous disorders can cause an adolescent to take their own life or take other people’s lives with a school shooting. Innocent lives are taken, due to the words that come out of someone’s mouth, therefore everyone should use the T.H.I.N.K method before they speak to another person. They should ask themselves these five questions: is it true, is it helpful, is it inspiring, is it necessary, and is it kind. The future does not look bright, due to anxiety, substance abuse, and bullying. Anxiety leads dangerous disorders and also substance abuse; substance abuse causes severe health issues including addiction, liver failure, lung cancer, and ultimately death. Bullying leads teens into depression, and teens either fight back with violence or take their own life. Teenagers need to learn to ask for help, whether it is for school work, problems at home, or problems in life. No one should feel like they have to fight their battles alone. Life should not have to be a fight every day, therefore teenagers must change their trajectory. Instead of stressing so much that they need narcotics and alcohol to calm down, they need to learn to try and relax and find a hobby that they enjoy. Instead of listening to rappers talk about smoking, drinking, and selling drugs, they should find good influencers that show them how to be successful without narcotics and alcohol. Instead of talking down to one another, teens must lift each other up. When teenagers learn to do those things, then their health will no longer suffer. They will be successful in life, and they will not be categorized as the generation that went crazy and destroyed the economy, but as the generation that saved the country and made it the best it could
