The movie “Masque of the Red Death”, did not change Poe’s message that death is inevitable. Everyone who tried to cheat death, by “devil worshipping,” still ended up dying. Everyone except, the people who believed that God existed were saved. There were three specific details from the movie.
One specific detail was from the movie, was that Prince Prospero tried to use “devil worshipping” as a way to save himself from the viscous Red Death. One way he tried to cheat death, was by sacrificing his soul to Satan. He used the black room, to carry out his sinister ways. The prince lures peasants into his castle, to sacrifice them to Satan by telling them that it's a safe refuge. As a way to distract them from how long they've really been there, he holds activities such as a masquerade ball. Oblivious to his secret plans, they believe him and end up paying the price.

Prince Prospero thought he could trick death, but that plan had a disappointing ending. As a result of the prince being so naive, he ended up meeting his end. All of his prosperous ways, and even his wealth couldn’t save Prince Prospero. Sadly, many died, and Prospero is to blame. The ones who were sanctified, lived and did not succumb to the prince's evil ways. The cause of all this death, is a horror-stricken plague called “The Red Death.” Blinded by the prince’s words, many people could’ve been saved. Yet, they were to deprived, to even see what was really going on. In the end, nobody outsmarted death, and lives were taken due to vagueness and stupidity.
