First of all, attachment is the process whereby children develop a bond between their caregivers or mothers. The types of attachment developed by Mary Ainsworth are secure, insecure-avoidant, disorganized, and insecure resistant. Those who were secured were able to connect well with others and feel confident even in unfamiliar circumstances. Also those who are insecure-avoidant and insecure resistant become less effective in dealing with such situations. Insecure-avoidant children avoid been dependent on others. Insecure-resistant people long for close relationship but sometimes it is hard for them to trust or depend on people.
